It's time for another update. As the title says, it's the first page of my eight pages long comic, about Moonflow's Precious Book.
This took quite some time for me to make, as I've been quite busy in real life, looking for a job. So most days, I've only had a few hours to work on it. I'm probably gonna tell you all right now, that a lot of time will pass, before I'm completely done with the comic, so I hope you all will bear with me and be patient with me. :)
Now, for the comic itself, I took some inspiration from alot of comic writes out there, in terms of layout. Having a colorful background to the picture, having the picture framed, a small dot on the bottom page, showing the page number, etc.
To start with, I've been fooling around with a lot of the effects that you can make in Photoshop, especially the smart blur tool, that I've been using on all of my background pictures. In my opinion, it gives a rather cool and cartoonish look, and adding lines to it as well, it just makes it better. :)
For the pictures, I've been really playing around with detailing expressions on Ki'niera. The close-up of her face in picture number three, really captures her ponderous expression. Same thing with her eyes, I've been trying to give them a more distinct glow, as well as making them look like real eyes. The smaller picture underneath it, was to show her closing the scroll and to show a downward look on her ample bossom. ;P
In picture number five, I wanted some additional glow effect on the hammer and fold effects on Kirinya's and Ki'niera's robes. And lastly, the last picture, I played around with some lighting effects, creating shafts of light coming out of the door, so people get the feeling that there's something grand and exciting in wait for page two. :3
